Oregon is currently reevaluating county risk categories every two weeks. Insurance is not required, but people with insurance are encouraged to bring their insurance information to their appointment. The vaccine is free for all Oregonians, and no proof of work or citizenship is required to receive one. The state also notes that many employers have workers with underlying health conditions that would qualify for the vaccine before May 1, and OHA hopes employers will communicate that this group also qualifies before the general population. However, the state is relying on individual employers to define who within their workforce meets the definition. Please remind your employees that they do not need to provide verification of employment to show that they qualify as frontline workers. The Oregon Health Authority released a comprehensive “ employer toolkit” to help employers communicate important information about vaccines to your workers and to help them find information about locations and appointments as they become eligible. This group includes frontline workers and their family members living in the same household, individuals living in a multigenerational household, and adults 16-44 with one or more underlying health conditions with increased risk.įor more information on vaccine eligibility, please see the OHA’s eligibility chart. On Monday, April 5, Oregonians in Phase 1B, Group 7 became eligible in all Oregon counties. Governor Brown announced April 6 that all Oregonians over the age of 16 will be eligible to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine on April 19, two weeks ahead of the previous date of May 1.
